Our Programme
Our programme includes activities
appropriate for the developmental levels of children. These activities
promote social and emotional development, language and cognitive development,
gross and fine motor skills. Skills easily enhanced because they are
encouraged and taught in a warm, caring and fun-filled environment.
The days routine is broken down so that the
children have:
| Free Playtime
self-directed time to choose where and with
whom the children would like to play. Children may choose from one
or all of the following:
The Gym: where they
find apparatus for riding, sliding, balancing, throwing and creative
movement. The Sensory area for sand and water play is also located
in the gym.
The Construction Room:
lots of building blocks and varied vehicles.
 Dramatic Play Room:
dress up time and imaginative play.
Cognitive Room:
full of books, puzzles and toys to enhance language and motor skills.
Art room: 3 varied
art activities are offered each day. |
Circle Time
teacher directed time. The children are
divided into 4 small groups with a maximum of 8 children per group.
The children rotate through four 10 minute circles: a gym circle, story
or language circle, theme circle and the all important snack circle. |
JK Programme
Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 1:00
to 4:00. Child must be 4 years old by February 28 of the enrolled school
year. Also offered two afternoons a week.
The JK program employs al the facets of our
morning programme and is enhanced by reduced class size, limited to 15 children
and guided by two teachers. In addition, we focus on reading and writing
skills, letter and sound recognition, introduction to word formation, printing
skills, pre-math skills; such as number recognition (0-10), graphing, grouping,
etc.
This programme is suitable:
- as an alternative to the large classes in the
school system
- for JK children already enrolled in the
school system but who wish to attend on the alternate days in order to
enhance their reading and writing skills
- for those children with Jan. or Feb.
birthdays who just want something a little bit more challenging than our
morning program
School Trips: help enhance our programme.
Written parental permission is required.

Staff Child Ratio: 1 Staff for every 8 children
